CONNECTION ACROSS GENERATIONS

The first Europeans to settle in the hills surrounding our croft were from Scotland and Ireland.  The mountain terrain required a fierce independence just to survive. There is a magnetism that draws people to mountains. Unsurprisingly there are mountain views in North Carolina that could easily make one think for a moment they were in the Highlands of Scotland.  It could have been one of the reasons the early Scots settled here; it felt like home.
